Cato Pet Hospital

I use to recommend this vet until today. I took my dog in on Friday because she was having problems walking. Did I wait a little longer than I should have? Probably. Come to find out my 8 yr old German shepherd had a slipped disk on her spine. Which has caused her a lot of pain and discomfort. It has kept her from eating and drinking like she normally would. So she did have a significant amount of weight loss. After $300 and getting her some medicine to help the healing process. Dr. Owens had the nerve to call my local animal shelter and have them do a welfare check on my dog. For Dr. Owens to judge my morality and integrity offends me very much so. I have always taken care of my pets. They have never missed a meal. I will not be taking my fur babies back to that clinic.

For the first time in 8 years I'm beside myself to say that for as long as I've been doing business at Cato, that I couldn't get my dogs nails clipped,, all of 5 minutes maybe, I was told that a technician was not there to do that type of service on Thursdays,,,,, Ms, Sara is wonderful Always has been, but there are some very rude associates that are working the front desk,, particularly Christian or Christy, she doesn't need to be in public relations I can honestly say , the people skills just aren't there,,, ridiculous,, I'm upset on how that young lady spoke to me , not with the Vet or there services,, the highest marks to mention , O well . My little dog will have to suffer , it's my only day off mind you.. but that's not relevant.. if Hailey was there I would have been back already with my little doggys nails cut and everybodys happy. Hailey gets things done she's really good,, always has been

I’ve taken my dogs to Cato for years. Dr. Doyle did what no other vet in town would do to save my American bulldog, Zeus. He was a little less than a year old. Any other vet would have charged me thousands and would have made me leave him there. I’d already brought him in earlier that week when he was just starting to get sick with vomiting, unable to hold water or food down. The parvo test came back negative. We got some meds and went home. He never showed any signs of getting better.. we know some meds take time. Within 3 days he was literally only a couple hours, maybe minutes away from death. I called the clinic and spoke with Dr. Doyle and instead of making me bring Zeus back up to the clinic, he told me to hurry to the clinic and get some supplies and meds. (I already knew how to give a dog iv fluids well before this). He gave me everything i needed and made sure I knew what to do. I didn’t even have the full payment on me. I promised I’d come back and pay the remaining balance. I rush home and start the fluids and and meds.. it took a couple days but slowly he started to come back. He helped me save my dog within my means. Zeus survived and grew to become a beautiful, brindle, massive, 150-160 pound, stubborn, funny, and all around good boy 😊 So thank you, Dr. Doyle and Cato Vet staff! I’m forever grateful and yes, I went back and paid my balance and I still take my animals there.

Had an issue with one of our dogs and took her here and honestly received good care from what I know. One visit was $300. And I really didn’t have a problem with that either considering what was wrong with her. My problem is that after I picked up my dog, my local animal control office was notified that I don’t feed my animals and came to do a “welfare check” to make sure we are taking care of our animals. They offered to assist with “putting her down” if we needed help with that. So, the solution to taking care of our dog is killing her? I won’t be back. I will not spend my money somewhere that questions my morality and integrity. Poor showing folks. Do better.
